Xiaoxiao Ma / 马萧萧 (b. China) is an artist whose work crosses genres and disciplines, from painting, experimental animation, writing to music composition and live performance. She lives and works in Los Angeles, California. Growing up in different countries and cultures, her multicultural background fostered her critical cultural observation. She graduated from both the Experimental Animation and Composition programs at the California Institute of the Arts.

As a pianist, composer, and producer, she is passionate about experimental composition, jazz and music improvisation, influenced by cutting-edge electronic club culture. She focuses on electroacoustic and experimental chamber music: prepared piano, synthesizers, sampling, file recording, and extended techniques on traditional instruments.
